Biography
Born in Cape Town.
A child of the Fifties and Sixties.
Sagittarian vegetarian.
Nature nurtures her during her formative years –
sustains and inspires her as an artist.
Currently living in Johannesburg.
Expanding her portfolio.
Teaching others to explore and express their creativity
through private art classes and workshops.
Seeing with the eye of the mystic and visionary,
revealing the mystery within and beyond physical form.
Her concern: The sacredness of life.
Her code of conduct: To make whole. To heal.
“Sanctify yourself and sanctify society”
– a sentiment she shares with St Francis of Assisi.
Her method: Paint and meditate.
If you can do it at the same time – even better.
Her passion: Colour.
Her path: A spiritual one. She walks it.
(she prefers to travel on foot).
Her dress sense: Carefully selected colours, mostly hand-dyed.
Known affectionately as The Lady in Red by her pupils.
“Everything that surrounds us emits vibrations and frequencies.
What we emanate will return to us.”
Hence she laughs a lot. At herself and anybody else who happens to be there.
Hence her interest in food.
Not only as sensuously rendered subject matter in her work
(you want to scratch and sniff her pastels of Granny Smiths).
Also to feed herself and hungry friends,
devoting hours in the kitchen to the preparation of wholesome vegetarian meals.
A drudgery for some, a joy for her – the feminine crafts:
Cooking, baking, sewing, knitting.
Other interests include theatre, dance.
Astrology, numerology.
Healing therapies.
Collecting gems and crystals.
Hanging out with angelic beings.
“The artist must show a way to transcend the human lot/condition.
By contemplating the Divine and beautiful in nature one can find peace.”
A blissbunny? Maybe.
But one whose feet are firmly on the ground.
